What are you trying to say about these subjects you replied to?

34 Name: Anonymous : 2017-07-06 06:33

Alright, let's just go through the reply chain again.
1: update the discord link you fucker!
Good idea to contact s6 via the board itself; however another way might be to use their email that's on the FAQ page. Reasonable request.

2: I deleted it because discord is actually gay. Got something to post? Post it here not discord. Fucking retard. Why the fuck do I even need to say it? This is the fucking place to post not discord.
Seems like an imposter. If s6 had really deleted the discord, they would've also removed the link at the top of the page.

16:>>2
anon does have a point discord is kind of pointless for a textboard
Brings up the idea that the discord is pointless.

17:>>16
But many textboards also have IRC, aren't those pointless as well?
Tries to engage with >>16's idea, asking whether the other IRCs would also be pointless.

18:>>16
the discord is simply for those looking to talk to the community in a different format. It doesn't cause any harm or split in the discussion as is.
Says that the discord is used as a release for posts or threads that people in the community doesn't want to put on the board or as a way to talk to people in addition to 26ch.

19:>>17
Worse than pointless, as is discord. It encourages name-using, normalfagging and clique-forming. May as well just go back to reddit if you must behave like that.
Says that IRC and discord encourages behaviors that >>19 disaproves of.

22:>>19
You're probably not aware that anonymous IRC servers exist.
Also the discord is used for moderators, so that's one reason to have it.
Points out that some IRC servers don't force its users to have a name. Also gives a reason for having a discord.

23:>>22
No reason to have mods on a textboard, asscatcher. And you know as well as I do that no IRC channels associated with any textboard are anonymous!
Says that there isn't any reason for mods to be on a textboard, gives no justification. Asserts that no textboard IRC channels are anonymous.

24:>>23
That's because a useless irc would be useless as there is already a useless textboard.
Says that a useless textboard would also have a useless IRC.

25:>>23
Actually you're wrong irc.sageru.org is anonymous and associated with sageru. Also there's reason to have mods if the "owner" or whatever can't be there to moderate all the time.
Gives an example of a textboard IRC that is anonymous. Also states a reason for there to have moderators on a textboard.

27:>>25
Do you know how to read? I have no idea who you are because you're anonymous. I don't see a need to blog about it though so this post is over.
Asks if >>25 knows how to read. States they don't know >>25's identity. Says they don't need to blog.

29:>>27

Confused by >>27's post.

30:>>29

>your

Stopped reading there. This is just a note for myself to remind me where I was up to. Please ignore.
Points out a spelling error in >>29. Stats that the post is a reminder for the poster.

31:>>29

Asks what is confusing >>29. Asks if >>29 can read. Asks if >>29 is anonymous. Asserts that >>29 is blogging and asks whether there was a need for them to blog?

33:>>32
Sageru has an anonymous IRC

What are you trying to say about these subjects you replied to?
Clears up what >>29 was confused about.

So far:
Some people don't like that there is a discord because they believe it encourages behavior that they disapprove of. At least one of those same people also doesn't see the point to having a discord or an IRC server for 26ch or textboards in general. Some other people point out that IRC or discord can be used for people who are not s6 to communicate and moderate. It's been pointed out that IRC can exist in a form that doesn't allow for one of the behaviors that is disapprove of, having a name. Also that form of IRC is also activly associated with the textboard sageru.
At least another person doesn't see why there needs to be moderators on textboards. Obviously moderators are there to remove spam/illegal posts/posts which violate the common sense rule.
I am confused (as I assume other people reading this are as well) on some of the poster's fixation on the word blogging. What do you consider blogging to be and why are you using it in an accusitory manner?
Also why are people asking if other posters can read, obviously they can otherwise they'd be unable to write a post that relates to anything in this thread.

35 Name: Anonymous : 2017-07-06 06:53

Your write up was laughably biased and disingenuous. Let's see:
1, it is clearly pointless to have mods on a textboard. The admin can stop by when available to remove spam and be done with it. Since there is no way to post cp on a textboard, there is no need for a whole team of mods to respond fast.
2, an IRC with no names is merely a textboard but with a single ephemeral thread. Clearly pointless.
3, is it possible, or even likely, that one's reading ability would be questioned precisely because their post did NOT "relate to anything in this thread"?
4, blogposting is also known as longposting or attentionwhoring. Essentially it denotes a long post written from the first-person perspective. Seriously frowned upon here.

>1, it is clearly pointless to have mods on a textboard. The admin can stop by when available to remove spam and be done with it. Since there is no way to post cp on a textboard, there is no need for a whole team of mods to respond fast.

Well the case is that the admin actually doesn't stop by very often to remove spam. s6 locked up the board due to spam and didn't get around to fixing it for 3 weeks. Take a look at https://26ch.net/subback.html and you'll see that there have been some posts at least around once each day. However there are no posts at all between the dates 2017-04-22 and 2017-05-11, because 26ch was locked during that time. Spam discourages "good" posts or at least post that follow the common sense rule. Such as a thread or multiple ones created not to make a discussion but to push another thread out of sight.

>Since there is no way to post cp on a textboard

Ever heard of an illegal number? Basically it's information encoded into a number that can be decoded into something such as an image file or copyrighted material. So someone could in fact encode CP and post it as text. Not too likely but it did happen once on sageru.

>2, an IRC with no names is merely a textboard but with a single ephemeral thread. Clearly pointless.

You're simply stating it's pointless, not giving any reasons as to why it is. It's fairly clear that you've never tried out IRC yourself; how could an IRC server be a "single ephemeral thread" when it's split up into multiple channels?

>3, is it possible, or even likely, that one's reading ability would be questioned precisely because their post did NOT "relate to anything in this thread"?

Sure, if someone were to write in a certain way that made it apparent they couldn't read what people are posting in a given thread. I was more confused about why you kept on asking if that person could read.

>4, blogposting is also known as longposting or attentionwhoring.

I have to say that this is the first time the term has been used on 26ch.

>Essentially it denotes a long post written from the first-person perspective.

There is nothing wrong with writing from the first person perspective. Although someone could to some degree say they don't want to read a post due to it's length. However the posts that accused posters of blogging (>>27,32) were replying to posts that are a mere two to three sentences, which is not blogging via your definition.

>Seriously frowned upon here.

Give some proof other than your words. Here's a thread that's all "blogging" from your definition https://26ch.net/kareha.pl/1488842425/ not one post there saying that the people were blogging. It looks like blogging is accepted on 26ch as a regular post.

>>29
You are probably right that this person is from a country where English isn't the native language. Take their numbered list in >>35, they use commas instead of periods which is conventional in Latin American countries.

>Well the case is that the admin actually doesn't stop by very often to remove spam.

Why start a board if not to be present on the board?

>Ever heard of an illegal number?

That's a stretch. CP needs to be deleted fast to protect the site from downtime. A concealed image of the type you are talking about would not have that imperative.

>if someone were to write in a certain way that made it apparent they couldn't read what people are posting in a given thread

Exactly.

>the posts that accused posters of blogging (>>27,32)

Okay, now we are back to wondering if you can read. >>27 merely stated he saw no need to blog, implying he would refrain from longposting. There is no "accusation" to be found.

>It looks like blogging is accepted on 26ch

Wrong again.
